I'm moving to Bremerton, WA in the fall and I'm trying to figure out where I can meet people.?

I'm 18 and I'm completely new to the area (new to the state too) and the only thing I am apprehensive about is not knowing what there is to do in the town or where I can meet other kids my age. I just graduated high school and am doing a gap year volunteering there before college to the usual "meet friends through school" thing isn't going to be an option. So if you are from the area or know anything about it please help me out, I don't want to spend the year cooped up in my house on the weekends.
