Why do crows follow me?

Although it sounds quite strange, crows seem to follow me. Whenever I go to a park or in to the woods, they literally FOLLOW me! Like, they jump from tree to tree to follow me when I'm walking allong. There are almost always crows in my yard when I arrive home. I don't know if anyone is like this, but I'm so ultra sensitive that I do not want to have friends and this appears to others that I don't care about anybody. Also, whenever I'm watching a sad movie with someone, I can feel myself about to cry as my shoulders start to shake when I try to hold it in. Sometimes when I do this, I need to laugh to relieve myself because I know if I let tears come down, they won't stop. If a third party would observe this, it'll look like I'm laughing at the sad situation in the movie. To make my sensitivity even more apparent, I sometimes feel like weeping when I peruse online debating boards and I see people call each other names and be cruel to each other. When I refuse to partake in these kind of conversations, I suppose it'll seem like I couldn't care less, but really, I would be running away in fear of getting hurt myself while viewing others being verbally abused. To top it of, I'm struggling months later to forgive my friend for declaring ending his friendship with me because I didn't stay online to help him with something. Most of our yard is paved; Can we still keep chickens?

We live in an urban downtown area on 1/10th of an acre; obviously, our house takes up most of that, and our fenced in yard is paved over for a car pad. The area is about 30 ft x 30 ft; I would love to have a small chicken coop (we also plan to build raised vegetable gardens on the car pad), but I am not sure if the chickens will be okay on concrete. There is a small grass area on the other side of the house, within the fencing, and we have a grassy front lawn (unfenced) about the same size as the car pad area.

There is nothing wrong with going out on the weekends. You sound very level headed and mature. It's not like you are going out partying and getting drunk or high, so I see no reason at all why you should feel bad about going out. If you are doing a lot of walking, which if you don't have a car and live in the city I assume you are, tandems are very hard to maneuver and are very bulky. It's hard to turn them down isles and heavier so your pushing a ton of weight on top of the weight of the babies. I bought a tandem when I was still pregnant with my twins and it was used one time before I bought two umbrella strollers and an adapter for 5 dollars at a yard sale. I paid $200.00 for the tandem and 5 for the umbrella, a little bitter about that, but the umbrella was much better. For the twins first birthday my grandma bought me a Jeep side by side, because she just didn't think the one I had was safe, anyway I really like it. Very light weight very easy to get the twins in an out. The only downfall is that it doesn't have an area where you can put drinks or carry bags. I have to put my purse over one handle and a mesh bags for things I buy on the other. I think my grandparents paid around 90 for it.

i have three polish chickens and they are like a year old and i have one silkie who is about 3 years old. i gave my uncle three polish chickens (when i bought my polish chickens it came in 15 chicks and i gave three of them to my uncle and i kept three and ii gave the rest away). so my polish chickens are the same exact age as his. we give them the same exact food and we care for them the same way. my chickens lay like 3 eggs a week and his chickens each lay 1 egg a day. why dont mine lay that many eggs? the only thing thats different is that they have a proper chicken coup with a box to lay their eggs. is that why? i dont have room in my yard to build a chicken coop

Im slowly trying to get them adjusted and have had the kitten for 3 days. i hate to leave it cooped up in a room by itself but whenever i get my dog and kitten close, the kitten hisses. my dog really tends to pay no attention to the kitten but once or twice has aggressively barked and lunged towards the kitten(with me holding her collar). Im being very careful to make sure no contact is made but i just want to make sure this is fairly normal. i have found kittens in the past (not as young) and i don't remember those kittens hissing as much.. I know it will take time but im scared they will never get along.. am i being to hasty and impatient?.. any suggestions? thanks so much!

What would you consider "Fever Free"?

My 2 and 3 year old both came down with a virus a week ago. After 3 days of fever my son(2) has been healthy but my daughter (3) has continued to have a fever off and on. I took her to the doctor who thought the same thing I had, just a virus and that she did not expect her fever to continue much longer. Yesterday (day 7 of fever) she was fevered part of the day (99-101) and fine other parts, eating and acting normal except for a little more sleepy when the fever was present. Today so far (knock on wood) nothing above 99.5 and she is acting fine. If her temp goes above 100 today I plan on calling the doctor back, but otherwise do you think a temp below 100 but above 98.6 would still be considered "fever free?" She has been cooped up a week, and is begging to be able to play with her friends. I don't want to risk exposing anyone to an illness, and was waiting until 24 hrs fever free to allow her to play with her friends, but wondering if I even need to worry with a slight temp below 100? What would you do?

I'm pretty superstitious and yesterday I was walking and a raven was following me for about a block. It would sit on the telephone wire cawing and when I would pass it, It would fly close to my head and swoop up to the telephone wire ahead of me and start cawing again. This would make a really good story but what you have written could have been said in two sentences. You started OK with build up etc although I have to tell you crows do not fly at night so try an owl - and then you rush headlong and complete it without further build up or climax. You need a twist such as they walked through the cemetery together talking about various things and when they reached the other side the strange girl made some remark and was suddenly no more. Just a thought and I am sure you could think of something better. Good luck with your story and if it is based an a local happening then it makes it all the more creepy and scary.

Is this the baby blues or PPD?

It's been 11 days since I have had my daughter. Every day, I have felt exhausted and like I can't think straight. I always read stories of moms having these fuzzy, gushing, loving feelings towards their little ones right away- but I just don't have that. I care about my little girl, but I feel like I haven't "bonded" with her yet. I was a super active person before having a baby, and now I am cooped up in the house 24/7. I EBF and I don't have a pump yet. In fact, I am scared to pump because I feel like I don't know what I am doing, if it will cause oversupply, etc. My little girl only sleeps well when she is laying on my chest. I know it is "bad", but she sleeps on my chest every night while I am laying on the couch. My poor DH sleeps on the floor next to us. We have hardly spent any time together, as he only had 3 days off of work after I gave birth. I have a lovely mom who comes over 3 days a week, and I always feel better when she is hear. I'm not sure if this is PPD, but I am so scared of having it. I want to keep BFing, and i'm afraid i won't be able to if i have to take some kind of medication. Trying to create a growth loop in java?

In java, I'm completing a class for a game that creates circles and makes them grow at a certain rate until they reach their maximum radius and pop, unless the user clicks on the circle to pop it themselves. the rest of the program is written, however the class i need to write is the one which creates the circles and defines the growth amount. I have gotten through creating circle based on given points and radii, with a grow method that states the current radius becomes the starting radius + growth amount. however, I can't figure out how to loop the circle back to the grow method IF the current radius hasn't reached its given pop radius. I was required to create a boolean method that answers the question "has the circle popped?". Do i need to create a loop within this method or declare it somewhere else? how do i return to the grow method if it hasn't popped? I'm not sure about the actual time increments, I can play with that after i get the program running, i just need to get the growth function working (i can start using an increment of 1000ms).

Raising Backyard Chickens?

I just moved onto a 30 acre farm and live next to my landlord who has a portable chicken coop that he moves around his 'side' of the property where all the hens are free range. He is allowing me to get chickens and ducks (we also have a small pond). Since we are on a lease I cannot build a permanent coop, if I were to build a portable chicken coop would my chickens join his flock or would they stay in our yard? I only want 3 but I want the eggs to be on my side of the property and not in his coop :)

Not many people can work with people with such high special needs on a daily basis. I run a special needs coop for mentally impaired adults. My wife needs to respect that! Chicken Help!! Any suggestions?

I have a chicken, probably around 2-3 yrs old, we got her and some of her buddies on the 4th of April. About a month ago, we introduced some new young birds, gradually, and now everyone is co-existing well. On Friday, I noticed my big girl Biggie, had her comb was discolored and laying on her head (usually is erect and a bright red), she seemed very slow, delayed reactions and very careful about where she stepped. She's way out of it. She is not eating, depressed like, stays to herself, not interested in her free time (not even when everyone sounds the worm alarm and they go nuts) she'll just stand or lay there, not interested. There has been a few times where I see her yawning (like she's trying to dislodge some thing, but she's not gaging or choking) and she occasionally has a goober of drool from her beak. Her breathing is rapid, and she has some runny stool, but its not clumped on her bottom and she is not herself at all. The young birds were de wormed 2x prior before introduction, and the big girls were de wormed 2x before the introduction and as an entire flock they were de wormed after introduction. My husband cleans the entire coop ever 2-3 days, they are fed crumble, oyster shells every day, and corn 1 to 2 x a week thrown out in their paddock where they have free time. They get free time in a controlled setting, and are allowed to forage for bugs and on grass. I don't think she is laying, she's hardly walking or eating. We separated her to prevent the other girls from picking on her. Any suggestions. I was leaning towards coccidosis, however, labored breathing doesn't fit into the symptoms, and sour croup, but she doesn't have a smell? Any suggestions. I've tried all the vets around here, and none of them see chickens and yest we are in a rural area! ={ They suggest butchering her to prevent contamination of the rest of the flock.... ok if I need to , but I will not do that yet, because I don't know what it is and no other birds are displaying any of her symptoms. Every morning, when I go out to walk, at a certain point, there is always a huge flock of crows that fly over me. Continuously, I see more and more, they all start to caw, but then at the end of my walk, I see a single one. So every freakin moring, like at 6am these crows caw loudly and wake me up, in the trees behind my house. Dog won't stop chewing on stuff?

I have a 6 month old dog, we believe he has separation anxiety because he goes nuts when we leave the room or place him into his crate for the night, goes nuts not being around one of us period. We have been putting him in the crate since he was 3 months old for at night, so by now you would think he is used to it. Well, my husband and I work during the day. I just started work about a month ago and since I started work, he has been acting up.I leave him out of the crate because it is just not right to have a dog crate up all night and day. So, he has toys and our kitten to play with while we work. I work from 5am- 2pm, so I always come home before my husband and my husband does not leave the house until 8am so the dog is not alone for too long. However, I come home and he has chewed on anything he can find, including our furniture yet he has a whole bunch of toys and chew toys out. He goes after our things when we are gone. We literally leave nothing on the floor (except furniture obviously and his toys) and he'll chew on the end tables, the coffee table, the sofa, and even the half wall AND carpet! I don't want to get responses with people saying to leave him in the crate or to leave him outside. I can't leave him in the crate because that it too many hours cooped up from sleeping in there at night and we are not allowed to leave our dog outside in our rented neighborhood, they will charge us. So what are my options with the dog to have him stop chewing? He's costing us money to have to fix things in this place and our furniture and belongings are getting destroyed.

Todder...rash after sun exposure...what is it?

I get rashes after sun exposure, too (I'm a 27 year old female). They're not bumpy really, but they are red and splotchy. I can even get them after taking a really hot shower. My doctor diagnosed me as over-sensitive to the sun/heat. The rashes don't hurt at all, and when I know I'll be outside for longer than about 10 minutes, I wear 50+ SPF broad spectrum sunblock and re-apply it every 3 or 4 hours, more often if swimming or something. There's also an ingredient in some sunblocks that I've gotten a reaction from, but for the life of me I can't remember what it's called right now, sorry. Good luck to you and your little boy.

I found an injured crow in a parking lot. What should I do?

I found a crow rolling around and trying to stand/move in a parking lot. The poor thing seems skinny to me, and I think she may be a fledgling, although my mom says she looks like an adult... Neither of us know much about what fledglings are supposed to look like. She's a girl, and appears to have injured legs or feet, as she doesn't move them, but I did see her move one of them a little a few times... We brought her home, since vets are closed on Sundays, and gave her two jar lids, one with birdseed, and one with water. She ate and drank a little, and we put news paper under her. She seems to be feeling better; she's trying to move around. She can flap one wing for sure; the other, I'm not sure if it's hurt or not, I've seen her open both, but I'm not sure if she's actually flapped the other one. She opened her mouth a few times in the car, but I think it's because she was thirsty. And when we were outside (walking to the door) she made a few very quiet "caw"s, probably to the other crows in our tree. There citizens are rioting because they feel the government is "declaring war" on the citizens. Let's make this clear. If they do not make the cuts, they will not get the bailout money. If they do not get the bailout money, there economy will collapse. Still there citizens are resisting the cuts to entitlement spending. Does this sound familiar? i totally think cats should be let outside. my dad is allergic to cats and my cat who's 14 has lived outside since he was like 2 and whenever we bring him inside he always sits by the door wanting to be let back outside.

I have hit my breaking point! Any advice?

I am 18 and I completely had a melt down yesterday. I have had bad anxiety/depression that I have been trying to hide for a few years. I didn't want my parents to have to deal with two mentally ill kids becuase they have a lot of trouble dealing with my sisters bipolar disorder. Anyway my stress and anxiety has been building and building as i get older and feel like I need to be more on my own. I have never really gotten along with my sister because we are polar opposites and she has never been nice to me my anger towards her keeps getting stronger so much that i don't even want to be around her or hear her in the house. I feel so trapped here because my anxiety keeps at home all though I desperately need to get out and have other things to focus on. Anyway yesterday she was singing and playing the piano as usual and I got irritated and yelled at her to shut up, she then started cussing me out at the top of her lungs and I snapped in went after her pulling her hair and hitting her. It scared me because it is so out of character for me and even though I don't like my sister I wouldn't physicaly fight with her. I was panicing the whole rest of the day and ended up revealing my anxiety/depression to my parents. My parents are obviously pissed and I am grounded for the first time in my life (I have never liked getting into trouble). My parents will not let me be in contact with my boyfriend at all for a week which I am having a lot of trouble with because he is the person I am closest with in my life and I don't have other friends. I really feel like I should be talking him or out of the house I know they are trying to punish me for what I did but keeping me cooped up and isolating me is making it worse =(

This thing with the crows...is it natural?

is this weird ? years back ago i was standing outside and a crow flew by me and while in the air it turned its head so quickly and looked me dead in the eyes and cawed at me. it gave me a weird feeling. a day lator i went to juvi. then while in it a crow was sitting at the traash can staring at me through the narrow window.... and when ever i am feeling depressed if i see a crow near me i feel comfort and relaxed. the cawing sounds so sweet to me.. i look around for them when i am down. they land extremly close to me. i may sound like im over rethinking things though... but... i just dont know how to explain it

2 questions for vegans -serious advice please?

If I got in the mood for an egg I would just remind myself that it's an unborn baby. A chicken's period. It's much better to eat eggs from chickens that can run around freely and lay eggs naturally but to me, I can't stomach it. I was never hip on eggs even before I went vegan. They have protein but so does sperm. I'd rather eat the semen.

Why is my mom so annoying!?

I get in trouble for playing on my computer, I just lock myself up in my room. Then my mom whines that I'm on the computer too much. Then when I want to go outside, which IS often, she says 'no'. She thinks someone might 'grab me' I'm old enough to go outside, and hang out with my friends. But no. So now, I'm suffering from depression, because my family is screwed up, I can't hang out with my friends, and school is almost over, the only time I even kinda have fun, because I can't do ANYTHING while I'm at home. I sneak outside when she's gone, but come back in before she finds out. Though she is really starting to piss me off because she won't let me do a single thing. She probably just doesn't want to me to grow up, how do I get her to accept that I'm growing up and can't live my life inside, all cooped up. I hate it. They don't know I have depression, and I carry a pocket knife with me everywhere just in case anything were to happen, we live in a safe neighborhood. I just don't get it! It's the beginning of summer for me. I'm 17, have little money, and live in a small town. I'm looking for something to do this summer. Animal Crossing for gamecube?

This game is older, but I play it on my Wii every so often because it brings back good childhood memories. Anyways, I have this frog named Tad and my character was walking around and Tad ran up to me and was saying things like: "I don't know what I'm feeling, but I like you." In other words, he declared his love for my character. When he would get done talking, I'd move a step and he would run back up to me. This happened about 5 times and then it was over. This only ever happened once. I just want to know if this ever happened to anyone else.

Some Sort of Crow Omen?

My husband was walking to the store early this morning, when suddenly a crow dropped a large piece of ice at my husbands feet, flew to the power lines and perched himself there to quietly observe the rest of my husbands journey to the store and his return to our front porch. Coincidentally, it was the same chunk of ice my husband had slipped on just a few minutes before (where of course he fell again half a dozen times before the arrival of our crow friend...) From there he quietly urged me to the sidewalk where the mysterious creature was still watching us silently. As we retreated inside away from the cold of the morning, the great bird let out a loud 'caw' and flew away. I thought it was quite amusing that a crow should take a piece of ice in his possession and purposely set it in front of my husbands feet. The crows are known to be a bit mischievous, but is this also perhaps an omen of some sort?

It's because of the fact that the gap between the rich and poor keeps getting bigger. When people start to make money, they want more and in India, money gets you power and respect. People are willing to accept money as bribes or for other situations because there not gonna make that money anywhere else due to the lower standards of living in India, and in many cases, it will usually be the only way they can feed there families or meet other essential needs.

this wrong? My father owns a small farm. Now it's not a business or anything, just a hobby of his. Sometimes he raises chickens. Now, these chickens run around a large area on the farm, protected by a fence to keep out the foxes and other predators, etc, but not quite the hawks. They just run around and eat up nasty bugs like ticks, etc (which protects my legs!) and of course grains. Sometimes they do get loose and go off in the woods to lay their eggs, though can't say I have ever seen them hatched, likely gotten snatched up by predators. Anyway, they're pretty much free, and they do have a coop, a very large clean one, and we collect eggs from them. We don't even sell them off to large companies that mistreat them. They are specifically for our family, well, my grandparents too and the tenants.They aren't exactly suffering from high mortality rates or being butchered or suffocated or electrocuted alive. So, do you consider my family's "farming methods", if that's what I can call it, as an example of animal cruelty/exploitation because we eat their eggs? I'm just trying to get an understanding of where you stand; usually, I see it on the extreme end and some of it (not all) borders on ridiculousness or one-sidedness.

Im looking for a GOOD product in concentrate form (OTHER THAT ROUND UP) that will kill grass and weeds in a gravel driveway for at least a month or so. We have several feet of gravel driveway that i have been spraying with round up for 2 years to keep the grass and weeds out of it, but it keeps coming back. I have to re-spray it every 2 weeks or so to keep all the grass and weeds out. I was wondering if there was a product in concentrate form out there that is better that round up and will keep grass and weeds away longer, if so what do you recommend, how much does it cost and where can i get it? I have tried several other stuff from walmart Home Deopt and Lowes too, and its no better that round up. I've been going out with this girl for a few months now. She's a nice, sweet person, but also a bit clingy. She's pretty much everything that I use to be, pretty much marriage material. I'm starting to question myself for what I have done and I have no idea what I should do. My father and I have had a great relationship forever. We were devastated when my mother died of ovarian cancer(RIP Mom). We eventually got over it as a family and my father remarried to my aunt. I didn't like my the idea at first because I wouldn't want to see my father with anyone else besides my mother and the awkwardness of my aunt becoming my new step mom but I saw how happy he was with her so I eventually accepted it and we grew quite close. Things were going great for them and eventually their 3rd anniversary came around. My sister and I hosted a party for them at a local venue to celebrate the occasion. It was late a party and I made the mistake of getting drunk, so did my Aunt and dad. They ended up argueing about paying for the party, which was a gift from me and my sister, and my dad drove away with my aunt still on at the party. I offered to drive her home because I didn't want anything to happen to her. We drove for awhile when all of a sudden my aunt started hitting on me telling me I looked like my father and eventually she made the move on me by pulling me close and kissing me on the mouth. Because I was drunk, I gave in and we eventually had sex. Weeks later my father was diagnosed with lung cancer and just lately the battle he bravely fought against it was declared a losing cause by doctors. He has been given a less than a month to live. Around this time my aunt frantically called me on the phone saying she was pregnant. She also told me that the it was mine because around the time of the pregnancy my father and her did not have sex because they were constantly argueing. She has not told him about any of this, only that she is pregnant. He thinks it is his and he has been talking about how I'm getting a little baby sister. I don't know what to do. My aunt keeps lying to him saying its his. What do I do, do I tell him the truth, do i let him think its his and let him rest easy, what do i tell my family about this, do I abort this incestial child, is their any legal complications with this. Please help me in my desperate situation.
